The busiest times can lead to long wait times, especially on lively nights like Fridays and Saturdays, which might deter those seeking a quiet evening out. Some diners have mentioned that during peak hours, the noise level can get a bit high, making conversation challenging. Although the food is loved by many, there have been rare mentions of inconsistent meal timing during busy periods, suggesting that a bit of patience may be required. Limited vegetarian options have also been pointed out as a downside for non-meat eaters, reducing choices for some patrons. Parking, while free, can become limited during peak visit times, which might pose issues for those driving in.
Absolutely loved our evening at The Lion, Fareham. A proper little gem of a boozer — the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the vibe was warm and relaxed. The live band was fantastic called No Weddings. Great pub to drop into if you’re after somewhere local, casual and full of character. Will definitely be back!
Since Jamie, Steve & Tracy have taken over this pub has gone from great to amazing! Their bingo nights are so much fun, their quiz nights are great (bar 1 team) and the food....the food is brilliant!! Such a lovely safe environment to be in. Good drinks selection too. Wow! Delicious food! I had the mac n cheese, so filling, absolutely lovely! My boyfriend had the Guinness beef stew and loved it too! Its our first time eating here, definitely wont be the last! Thank you Golden Lion 😁
We had a fabulous roast dinner here today, huge portions & very tasty, lovely staff, highly recommend, thank you we will be back 🙌🏻
Went for a Sunday roast based on reviews and was one of the most superb I’ve had! I had no idea this was just down the road and am thrilled. Had the beef brisket that was moist and tender, lovely gravy, perfect parsnips and roast spuds. Also then steamed broccoli and creamed leeks. Wonderfully presented, and brought to table by the chef himself- he and all staff were lovely.
Incredible Sunday roast and it’s cooked to perfection. Lovely staff especially Aimee she rocks 🙂 The service and food Awsome 10/10 🙂 If in the fareham area a must place to visit 🙂
What an excellent evening. I heard on the grapevine that a new bike night was starting up so I popped along, with a few friends. We received an amazing welcome from the staff and the locals, and we ordered the Bike night special, Burger and Chips twice for £19.95. But what a burger, hand crafted and built to order, yup just tell em what you want on your burger and they will sort it 😉 Served with a generous portion of skins on chips, delicious 😋 And all those pretty bikes to look at. We will definitely pop in again before the end of season.
